The Florida DECA scholarship program, coined "Dollars for Diamonds" provides graduating student members with $500 scholarships honoring current or past FL DECA Executive Directors, leaders, as well as four members from Marjory Stoneman Douglas who lost their lives. The scholarship program for Florida DECA is called Dollars for Diamonds. Florida DECA Executive officers, who have successfully completed their term, are honored with a $1000 Ed Fleming Memorial Scholarship. FL DECA Vice Presidents who have successfully completed their term, are honored with a $500 scholarship.
Scholarships are funded primarily by each Florida DECA member, as ONE dollar of their state dues are reserved for the scholarship fund. Additional funds are raised by chapters as a part of our Annual Business Plan and/or direct donation, corporate sponsorships, and/or individual contributions.
Graduating members need to apply using the application and checklist form below and submit via mail no later than February 15. These applications will be reviewed by the "Dollars for Diamonds" Selection Committee, and interviews will take place during Florida DECA Career Development Conference. Awardees will be honored at our Grand Awards session.
