I’m Zack Schaja, a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and the president of Florida DECA. Outside of school and DECA I enjoy playing sports with my friends. I go to the park nearly every week and play pick-up games of basketball and football. I also enjoy the outdoors. Last summer I spent over 4 weeks ice climbing, rafting, and backpacking, in Alaska with a program called Adventure Treks. I also have spent 5 weeks volunteering in national parks in British Colombia and Washington with an organization called SCA (Student Conservation Association). We built, brushed, and repaired trails. Through my times in the outdoors, I learned how to live without my cell phone, air-conditioning, and even a bed. Instead of missing my bed when I went away, I missed my tent when I came home. Another passion of mine is football. I’m sad to say that I am a Jets fan but fortunately there’s always Fantasy Football to keep me busy later in the season. I joined DECA my freshman year of high school and it has really made such a difference in my life. I am proud to serve as the President of Florida DECA and help you this year to Make It Count! |
