SUP FLORIDA?
I’m back at it again with the vlogs... this month I made a summarizing video of this years Emerging Leader Summit which took place July 7-9, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. It was a blast and an incredible learning experience. ELS is THE conference for officer teams! It was full of actually valuable workshops and a ton of sightseeing! Take me back!! Team 61 worked diligently using the information we learned while at the conference and can’t wait for you to take all of our new workshops at our version of ELS in St. Pete, FL!

Hey Florida DECA! Today we’re talking about the promotional campaign. The DECA Inc. campaigns are meant to make your chapter thrive. This campaign can be broken down into 3 parts:
1. 3 School Outreach Activities This can be anything from lunchtime activities, to a poster, or a school announcement. 2. 3 Success Stories of Alumni Some examples are making a poster with all the stories and hanging them around your DECA classrooms. Another is making a video of them answering some questions or being interviewed by someone. The last and most effective in my opinion is having 3 alumni guests speak at your school and share their success stories. 3. 3 Community Outreach Activities Common activities are fundraising events at local food places, having a guest speaker from your community, volunteering at a local event, or a social media campaign. When submitting this picture are optional but I suggest you add pictures, if you have, them and show off your chapter! For the activities they ask for a short description of each activity and for the success stories they ask for their story. It’s good to keep that in mind when competing these projects so that your chapter can prepare the submission ahead of time. Also remember that the promotional campaign is from the beginning of the school year through DECA month and is due on December 1st. Lastly, if you want more slots at ICDC chapters receive thrive academy slots for achieving at least 2 of each thrive campaign. If you have any questions email me at laura@fldeca.org. Till next time Florida DECA! Hello again Florida DECA!
Just like in business, continued growth is one of the keys to success. DECA’s membership campaign is designed to help your chapter grow by making the DECA experience available to more student members, keeping alumni involved and engaging professional members such as administrators, teachers, parents and business partners. Ideas to help gain membership are said in this video and my previous vlog as well; but you’re more than welcome to come up with your own way to gain membership in your chapter, whatever works for you! Here are the links to what I talk about in the video: https://www.deca.org/high-school-programs/high-school-chapter-campaigns/ https://www.deca.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Campaign-Guidebook.pdf I hope to see your chapters grow this year!
