Florida DECA who is ready for a new year?!
Hello my name is Laura Valiente and I am honored to announce that I am your Team 61 President. I am going to start off with my DECA story. I started DECA my freshman year in Cypress Bay high school I was a part of the DECA Leadership Council (DLC). The next year I applied for an officer position and went through an interview process. I was excited when I got it. That year, my sophomore year, I was promoted to be co-president of Cypress Bay DECA. That year I was able to go to ELS and work helping Team 59 collect Helping Hands. So that year I campaigned to be Executive Vice President of Florida DECA and I served as your Team 60 EVP last year. And this year I get to be your Team 61 President! Here are 5 quick facts about me:
Thank you for this amazing opportunity Florida DECA! Till next time Florida DECA!

Hello Florida DECA!
My name is Bianca Garcia and I am one of your new VP’s for Team 61. I want thank everyone who supported me in achieving this position, my chapter, my family and my friends, all of you have believed in me and my abilities to serve this chartered association to the fullest of capabilities. If it wasn’t for the support from these individuals, especially my advisors and Mom, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and my DECA story would have been much different. For the majority of Florida DECA that haven’t meet me yet, I am so exited to meet and get to know you, and be a rock behind all of you, supporting all of you in whatever way I can. You guys have inspired me in more ways than you can imagine and I am so proud to be serving an association filled with such talented and passionate individuals. Every single member contributes something special that sets our association apart from all the others, and I thank you all for that. I wish you all the best of luck at CDC this year, and not only for all of you to do your best, but to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people and experience new things if this this your first CDC. My favorite part of going to CDC isn’t competition, but getting to meet new DECA members from different chapters I haven’t meet before, and making memories with these new friends and my chapter that will last me a life time. These are a few things about me, so you all can know me a little better. I’m 16 currently, I turn 17 May 3. I got to Thomas Jefferson High School in district 6, all the way in Tampa, as well as a Hillsborough Community College for dual enrollment to take business classes. I am very involved in my high school, apart from DECA, I am in my school’s SGA as a previous officer and a very involved member, along with class of 2019 class council helping out with whatever my class needs. I am also Valedictorian of my class. In my schools DECA chapter, I have been a member since freshmen year, I have attended CDC every year since freshmen year, and my sophomore year I got the chance to attend ICDC. These incredible experiences along with all of the activities my home chapter does, has truly shaped my DECA story and has influenced me directly as a person and has made me grow out of my shell. In the future I would love to attend college out of state, hopefully University of Southern California, where I would go to study international business and go on to get an MBA. I want to go into the hospitality and tourism industry, working in the hotel business. As for now, with this upcoming year for DECA, I want to accomplish at least one thing significant that can hopefully impact Florida DECA for the better, and to help grow everyone’s DECA story. My biggest high school goal was to become a Florida DECA state officer after my first CDC, and it feels surreal to have accomplished this goal, but this is just the beginning of a much bigger goal with the help of my team. Team 61 will do all that we can do leave Florida DECA better than how we found it, and to inspire individuals to continue this journey into Team 62. I am so excited for what is to come this year. Remember that we are Florida DECA, and all of us will work together to make this year LIMITLESS. Hi FL DECA!!!!! My name is Daniela Arango & I am one of your new state VPs for this year! I am 17 years old and I am a junior at Spanish River in Boca Raton. I have been an active member of my chapter since freshman year. My sophomore year I served as the New Student Recruitment director and this year I am the vice president of career development for my chapter. Outside of DECA, I play flag football, run cross country, and own a charity named TeachTech that holds free tech classes for the elderly. My name is Jarell Lyttle and I’ll be one of your next Chartered Association Vice Presidents. I want to start off by saying how grateful I am to be given such an amazing opportunity. I’d like you all to get to know me a little bit better, so here are a few facts about me and things I enjoy doing. I’m 16 years old (birthday is April 3), born and raised in South Florida, and my family is from Jamaica. My favorite genre of music is Hip-Hop and I like too many artists to pick a favorite. Currently I’m a junior at South Plantation High School and have been in DECA since my freshman year. I’ve done Tae Kwon-Do since I was five years old, and during my freshman and sophomore years I played football and ran track for my school. Not to be ‘braggy’, but I was pretty good at all of them too! I decided to put all of that aside and focus on what really caught my interest, DECA. I look forward to seeing you all at this year’s CDC and ICDC. If you ever want to contact me, my email is jarell@fldeca.org.
