The two topics I am covering this month will be DECA month and preparing for competition.
Participating in DECA month is a great way to unify your chapter, get the members involved, promote DECA within your school and community, and raise excitement for everything that follows during the year.
There are two ways to get involved:
1. Within Florida DECA, your chapter can check off an activity by participating in three DECA month activities that you will later report to Florida DECA as part of the Annual Business Plan.
2. Within DECA Inc., there are the DECA Campaigns. Participating can give your chapter rewards as far as allocations to attend the Thrive Academy at ICDC! More information can be found at http://bit.ly/DECAcampaigns.
Competition is right around the corner and now is the time to get started! Whether your a new member or a veteran, I highly recommend you compete. Attending CDC and ICDC are always the highlight of my DECA year as well as everyone else’s. Competition is a great opportunity to network and meet other members, travel, and gain real-world experience. Competition is the pinnacle event for DECA and I am confident that you will feel the same way.
