Hello Florida DECA, It’s December already! Today we’re going to talk about being professionally responsible. When being professionally responsible people need to dress to impress. This of course includes your DECA blazer or this can be business casual on appropriate occasions. Being professionally responsible is not all about what you wear, and during this time it falls a lot into competition.
Now that it is competition it is important that your competitors have integrity with the work they turn in. A good way that your chapter could do this is by having your leadership team work individually with competitors to make sure they are coming up with an innovative paper and that they are writing it themselves as a team. Some of you have passed districts and are already going to states, just make sure that they are studying for their tests and when they go to do these presentations and role plays that they are professionally responsible. That they know basic rules like shaking the judges han before sitting down and asking if they may be seated before doing so. Practicing role plays and presentations could really help your chapter. Competition is a really important way for your chapter to show that they are professionally responsible. We do have videos on how to effectively do role plays and presentations that can help you're chapter excell. But just remember that ethics plays a really big part on how your chapter is looked at by others. Thank you so much for watching! Feel free to contact me at laura@fldeca.org. I hope you're chapter does very well in competition, states is only 3 months away! Till next time Florida DECA.
