The scholarship program for Florida DECA is called Dollars for Diamonds. Annually, graduating student members from chapters around Florida apply for a $500 scholarship. The name Dollars for Diamonds acts as an umbrella for the individual scholarships. Under this umbrella we honor current and past FL DECA Executive Directors, leaders of Florida DECA, and four members from Marjory Stoneman Douglas who lost their lives. Florida DECA officers, who have successfully completed their term, are honored with a $1000 Ed Fleming Memorial Scholarship.
Scholarships are funded primarily by each Florida DECA member as ONE dollar of their state dues is reserved for the scholarship fund. Additional funds are raised by chapters as a part of our Annual Business Plan and/or direct donation, corporate sponsorships, and/or individual contributions.
Graduating members apply using the application and checklist form below and submit via mail no later than February 15 of any year. The applications will be reviewed by a Dollars for Diamonds Selection Committee along with an interview at the Florida DECA Career Development Conference. Awardees will be honored at our Grand Awards session at the FL DECA CDC. Students will be called on stage to be honored and will receive a special medallion.
Awardees, after starting their post-secondary education, will come back to this page to request their scholarship funds using the link posted below.
Awardees will receive ONE of the named scholarships below.
You may click on the logo of the scholarship to learn more about the individual who the scholarship is named after (coming soon).
